Carini's La Conca D'Oro brings Sicilian specialties to Milwaukee's east side. They have a vegetarian buffet Wednesday to Friday -- which they advertise as "The Best Vegetarian Buffet Lunch in Milwaukee!" -- and a number of veg dishes on the regular menu. The atmosphere is on the elegant side. Reservations are recommended, especially in the weekend.
From Hwy. 43 take the Capitol Drive exit East to Oakland Ave., turn right (South) on Oakland. We are on the East side of the street.

This is one of the few (and one of the first) places in Milwaukee to offer a vegetarian buffet. Watch out though, because they generally have one meat dish on their "vegetarian" buffet. The food is really good, but there are a lot of dishes that contain dairy, however, the staff is always willing to tell you what's vegan.
I was pretty impressed with this place. The chef came out and talked with us about the vegan options and even said that if we call ahead in the future, he could make a vegan lasagna or something for a group of people. It's not that often that I find a place that is so accommodating. The Italian bread was delicious and they make it fresh daily, the bruceta was terrific, and the pasta dish I got was light, simple, and amazing. The perfect place for a date or a nice dinner with friends.
