UPDATE 01/01/09: Returned to Las Vegas late summer 2008 and revisited the Chin Chin Cafe. WOW. Much better. We had an AWESOME server who was able to check all the sauces and really knew her stuff. We ate there twice over four days in Vegas. Dishes tried: Peanut Noodles with Fried Tofu. We asked about the peanut sauce and our waitress told us the ingredients which were vegan. We also tried the potstickers again and had the Kung Pao dish with fried tofu again.
Much better experience this time. This place has easily become the most accessible go-to restaurant for us while we spend the day(s) at NYNY or MGM Grand Casino/hotel.
Upped review from "good" to "great."
7/20/07: The food here isn't bad. In fact, I had the Kung Pao Tofu with fried tofu and it was quite tasty and big enough to share with my companion. Under the vegetarian selections, there is a category where they allow you to sub tofu for meat in many of their dishes. The waiter assured me that the sauce would be fish and meat broth free.
However, the potstickers had a very thick wrapper and were not that great. Plus, they came out 15-20 minutes *after* our entree and the waiter tried to lie to us by saying that he asked us if it was ok, which he didn't. I don't have an issue with appetizers coming late, just don't try to lie to the customer by blaming them.
If I only had the potstickers and the rude waiter, I would have hated this place, but the entree saved the day.
