Moroccan cuisine on Chicago's West side
Alhambra Palace opened a new location in May 2007 on Randolph street on the city's west side. The Moroccan-influenced interior is beautifully designed.
The food is Moroccan and French and the vegetarian options appear to be the standard Mediterranean mezze, hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, veggie kabobs, etc.
Belly dancers and live jazz musicians are featured here as well. There are also bars and private rooms for parties.
On Randolph near Racine or Ogden. The 20X comes close, but it would only run during rush hours. The Ashland stop of the green/pink line is close. Just walk east about 3 blocks.

The interior is beautiful, but the food really didn't match. The hummus was like any other hummus, the lentil soup was not impressive (it almost tasted like it came from a can), and the veggie kabobs were definitely lacking seasoning and flavor. My lunch companion really enjoyed his non-veg entree (lamb) though, so perhaps the focus is on meat dishes.
The service was also a big sluggish because there was one server for the whole batch of people that were in the restaurant.
