American and Cajun bistro.
Has a few vegetarian items, indoor and covered outdoor seating, non-smoking, quiet location hidden off of main streets, professional wait staff, weekday lunch hours 11-2 and dinner on Friday evenings 5:30-9. Almost all the menu items are custom-made mostly from scratch there by Chef Paul, the co-owner.
Directions:
Just off St. Mary street, one block north of Johnston street (one block north of the UL campus) and just across from a large UL parking lot.

Only has a few vegetarian items, but wow are they worth it. Has the best french fries (sweet potatoe fries) I've ever eaten: crispy, not oily, lightly and perfectly seasoned. Some multi-flavored home-made pita chips with wonderful home-made dips/salsas. Also, delicious sauteed vegetable sandwich wraps. And the must-have item is the Banana Fosters Bread Pudding: It's the single best restaurant desert item I've ever eaten anywhere. Worth the trip alone, and a meal by itself. I often go there just for the desert alone!
Also, Bonnie the co-owner and manager makes sure the wait staff is always very professional and highly courteous. Nice ambience as well.
