Renovated Cottage that's a Coffee House in a new location!

The Willow House, a long-time Phoenix institution for coffee and conversation, has moved to 17th Ave. and Van Buren. Here, arty-type painters, poets and performers gather for a caffeine fix and munchies. The place has a mellow atmosphere with lots of artwork for sale. The place is a bit funky and free spirited. Besides the indoor seating, picnic tables are available on the outdoor patio. Coffee drinks are the specialty of the house. A deli counter serves up soups, sandwiches and salads in the $4-8 range. There are a few Veg menu items, but nothing spectacular. This is a place for ambiance, not fine Veg cuisine.

-This place is just as vegan-friendly as the next coffee house.... I had a soy latte and the only vegan sandwich on the menu wheat pita bread with hummus, sprouts, mushrooms....the food definitely not worth going back for.
-The interior is dirty/ dusty eliciting flashbacks of my early college years when I found my furniture in dumpster alleys and used duct tape to fix everything.
-The smell is reminiscent of my grandfather's old home which seems to clash with the smell of a steamy latte...
-What is good about Willow House? The original artwork and knick knacks for sale, friendly staff, and free wi-fi : )
