A charming little cafe in the lower level of the DeWitt-Seitz building in the Canal Park area of Duluth.

Amazing Grace opened in June of 1995 and is a "scratch" bakery, coffee shop, cafe, live music venue, and great place to hang out. They offer outside seating, an Open Stage every Monday night, high speed internet access, free email, games, great sandwiches, wonderful homemade soups, ice cream, malts, huge cookies, good bread, including the popular Wild Rice Bread and 3 Pepper French Bread, and a great place where people can meet their friends, study, plug in their laptop, or sit outside, drink coffee, and read a good book.

Inattentive server, joke of a manager, & cold food. If you have two hours to kill for a simple breakfast, go for it! The hippie-lifestyle does not lend itself well into the service industry...

Even though this place is part of Green Routes (GreenRoutes.org), they had surprisingly very little vegan friendly food. I had the tofu scramble, which was good (but I've had better). On my next visit, I'll try their homemade hummus. I've heard great things about it.
Our server was very forgetful and inattentive, but she was helpful when it came to knowing what was vegan or not.
I rated it an 8 though, because I loved the secondhand plates and silverware, the coffee, and the overall atmosphere of this place. Playing Scrabble here over coffee and breakfast was one of the highlights of my trip to Duluth.
