The Satellite is a well-kept vegan/vegetarian secret in West Philly. It's a very low-key, cheap, yummy coffee/sandwich shop. The menu includes vegan/veggie wraps that have fresh ingredients. They also have vegan cream cheese and delicious bagels that sell out everyday. Vegan deserts from Vegan Treats in Bethlehem.
They have a computer with itunes and customers can select the music and check email. Lots of seating, indoor and outdoor. They wraps are grilled, so they take a minute to make. Very good selection of teas and coffee drinks, fair-trade and organic. Also features local art and music. Free wireless.

the satellite rocks! it's everything you want in a coffeehouse with an ever-expanding creative menu of veg. items, that the staff will always make vegan (if it's possible) or accommodate changes as you wish. All this for a great price! the bike shop special has become one of the new philly classic philly vegetarian staples. the french roast (as in coffee) is divine. At peak brunch times, the bagels do run out and the satellite's friendliness to its customers is translating into looong waits for tables on weekends, which is really only an issue when it's uncomfortably cold outside. Any other times, there is ample space, and cozy outdoor seating as well. Too bad a review may foster the busy onslaught, but i can't not give props where it's due.
