Every time I go to My Thai I have a fabulous experience. There is vegan Thai iced tea, sweetened with sugar and coconut milk instead of sweet and condensed milk. My favorite menu items are the coconut soup (sweet coconut milk with vegetables and mushrooms) and pineapple chicken (which has a wonderful chicken-like texture), but I've enjoyed everything that I've tried so far. The menu is very extensive and includes a large array of vegan "seafood" items. There are many wonderful desserts (imported from Cafe Indigo) to choose from: chocolate cake, lemon poppyseed cake, carrot cake, chocolate peppermint ganache cake. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Boston area.
This is among the best vegan Thai food I've ever had, though I'd prefer brown rice instead of white. The service is hard to gauge, because my first experience was with a group of 16, and so the food came out in drips and drabs, but it tasted excellent, and I can't wait to go back again, especially for the desserts, which are shipped in from an outside bakery. We had the Turtle Truffle Torte and the Peppermint Chocolate Ganache Cake, which were both outstanding. We brought them home with us, so we were able to enjoy them with some soy milk, which really made it a perfect finish. The dessert case is in the next storefront over (they are connected), but the second storefront is ostensibly the boba tea side of the restaurant, and I enjoyed an unusual bubble tea that was basically a pineapple banana smoothie with boba, as opposed to a tea, and that was just fine with me. As it is, I think I overdid it on food. While writing this review, I am acutely aware of my stomach. It is content, but really stuffed!
I might change my rating to a 10 later, when I have had a chance to evaluate service from a more standard dining situation. That atmosphere is fine, but nothing noteworthy.
I was excited to try this restaurant to see how different it'd be from Buddha's Delight Too, the previous occupant. They definitely improved the ambiance a bit - cute place setting, dishes, and fresh flowers at every table. The menu was decent, but still reminiscent of Buddha's Delight.
We were really disappointed with the service. My husband's food came out within a reasonable amount of time. I waited for mine for over forty minutes. The server never once came by to see how we were doing, or to tell us why my food was taking so long.
When I finally flagged someone down to explain that my food had not yet arrived, she said, "Oh, yeah. There's a problem in the kitchen," and then turned around and left. She didn't apologize, or tell me what the problem was, or ask if there was anything she could get for us while we waited. We're very understanding people; sometimes problems happen! We just wish they had made SOME effort to make us happy as we waited for my food. A timely apology and explanation would have gone a long way with us.
About five minutes after my frustrating interaction with the server, my pad thai arrived. It was pretty good. The sauce had a nice heat level and the "chicken" was great. Unfortunately I was too frustrated to really enjoy it.
To top it all off, they never brought us the tea we ordered. Not a big deal on its own, but it certainly didn't help our opinion of this place.
The food was definitely decent, and at first we were excited to try the fun looking desserts in the pastry case. By the time I was done eating we couldn't wait to get out of there. I hope I just caught them on a bad night - if this is how they usually treat their customers I can't imagine they will last long!
This place is wonderful. The food is great with a huge menu. I had a mango "chicken" salad that i would highly recommend. The fake meat is the best in Boston. They have vegan desserts such as cheesecake, german chocolate cake, carrot cake and much more. And, they have the greatest bubble teas that i have ever tried! Try the mango! On top of all that, the service was very attentive.

I'm from New Hampshire, where it can be very tough to find vegan food, so you can imagine how I felt when I came here and had over 100 items to chose from. They were out of fake crispy chicken the day that I arrived, so I chose a crispy beef stir fry and a side order of vegan wontons instead. Needless to say, they were both great. I'm not really one for desserts, but the chocolate cake was incredible. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to return.
