Chinese

Vegan chinese food. Great selection and they do the most incredible things with soy!

All the lunches are only $4.99 and they come with healthy brown rice and a spring roll. Most dishes have either textured soy, tofu, or portabella mushroom stems and they are all smothered in some delicious sauce.

I think the prices have gone up $2 since the previous post for lunch combo prices - they average about $6.50 now. I can't say enough good things - I'm not completely vegetarian, but this is simply the best authentic Chinese food anywhere in Salt Lake City. It is a small location, it's owned and operated by an elderly Asian couple, and they're the folks in the back doing the cooking every single day. The food is always fresh - they have a garden behind the shop during summer months, where they collect herbs and veggies, but I can see that in the winter months (as someone said the food wasn't fresh) it might be hard to get some of the freshest ingredients. At any rate - it's very good food. The building is old, the tables and chairs are old, it's all scuffed and it can appear dirty, but it's not - all new seating would cost a fortune, and these folks aren't in it for high profits. It's why we don't pay $15 a plate to eat there - they love good food, and they treat everyone like family.

This is a fantastic little place. I took some vegetarian friends there recently and they were blown away. The soy is so good, they order it from Taiwan, and that's the only place around you can get it. Highly recommended!

This place more or less blows my mind every time I go back to enjoy their amazing vegan food. Sadly, I don't live in Salt Lake anymore, but when I visit, I generally make Evergreen's one of my first stops. If you live in Salt Lake, or you happen to be visiting, go check out this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The prices are good and the food is divine. You won't be disappointed!

My husband is a vegetarian and I am partially, but I love the food. Anyways ... this is our first try at a vegetarian restaurant ... Wow! The food was awesome! The restaurant itself is a little hole in the wall, but that doesn't phase me. We lived in Korea for 3 years and the hole in the wall places were the best.

For appetizers we ordered the fried tofu (good, but a little greasy) and the spring rolls. The spring rolls were wonderful. Husband didn't like them as much as I did ... they have a hint of curry in them which makes them unique. For entrees we ordered the potato curry dish and a "beef" dish I can't remember the name of. Both dishes were delish! We will most definitely will be revisiting the Evergreen House!

Ive tried 3 vegan rest. in the area and like this the best. I am not a vegan, someone introduced me to this and I just really liked the food. Would be the perfect restaurant if in a brand new building

I do not like Evergreen's food at all. It's not the cleanest place, either. They are completely vegan so I have to give them credit. Lots of other vegan like this restaurant, though.

just a note- the mushroom stem is no longer vegan, but everything else still is :)

I have been here three different times and just found it okay. The service is great but the food just does not seem fresh and the restaurant is not as clean as I would like. A lot of people love this places so you should give it a try.

Without a doubt the best food I have ever eaten. Trust me on this, try the curry potato. The owners are very nice, and they are always there to make sure your experience is wonderful.
