Great food, service, atmosphere, music and pricing! Just went there yesterday and want to come back tonight. By the way, I am not vegetarian. Was completely impressed with quality of food and hospitality.
Great south Indian food, distinct from the usual rice-and-curries you find at most area Indian places. The dosas are fantastic and come in a number of varieties. Reasonable prices and the wait staff is extremely polite and helpful.
I love this restaurant. I am so glad that this opened in such a conventient location. I actually have dreams about the dosas that they serve here, and the servers there remember me and what I like. I have ordered things off the menu that I NEVER would have tried based solely on their recommendations, and they have never steered me wrong.
This is a great place for a quiet dinner with a friend, or a family vegetarian dinner. They have roomy tables, and a wide variety of food on their menu. Obviously the focus is on Indian food, but they have "american" and "mexican" and "chinese" etc, so even people who hate Indian food (I don't know anyone like that, and I don't want to) can find something on their menu.
p.s. they are closed Tuesdays.
p.p.s. BYOB!!! take a bottle of wine.
A++ will eat again (probably tonight!)
My co-workers and I went there today for the lunch buffet. (One thing to note, the buffet doesn't really start until 11:30...and it wasn't even ready until about 11:45). But the food was pretty good. The palek paneer was my favorite.

One of my favorites as far as Indian food in concerned in Pittsburgh. Orchids is not afraid to add the spice if you ask them to make it spicey.
