The Plant is a commissary kitchen in DUMBO devoted to raw food preparation, education, and distribution. Blue-Green Organic Juice Cafe, located inside the Plant, serves raw cuisine and organic juices prepared on location. The Plant offers pre-fixe full-course raw dinners on the weekends.
Matthew Kenney, the man behind the raw, vegan and vegetarian food at Pure Food & Wine in Gramercy, and author of Raw Food Real World is at it again. The beauty-boy has built a new center for natural living, health and education called The Plant.The 4,000-square-foot space in DUMBO will have classes, lectures, and panels and will serve as a "living food school and commissary kitchen." The space has an open kitchen, a drying room for all your favorite fruits and vegetables, and of course, a gigantic refrigerator.

The Plant is an excellent addition to the DUMBO area. There are a variety of creative raw-food dishes as well as great smoothies, juices, and items like organic raw granola. Feels a bit pricey, as raw food sometimes does, but worth it in my opinion, and awesome considering the other options in the area.
