The Beehive is a hip coffee house, open late in the South Side.
The Beehive has numerous teas, coffees, and other drinks which are vegan, including vegan hot chocolate. They generally have soymilk on hand to substitute for regular milk.
Additionally, they offer small snack foods, of which usually a few are vegan. Recently, they've had sesame tofu and cold sesame noodles, both vegan, in their deli case. They also have peanut butter and jelly, bowls of cereal, and other kitschy snack offerings.
Not overflowing with choices, but open very late.
The Beehive has 3 rooms - the main room where you order and can rent computer time for $1/15 mins, a sitting room which has 5 pinball machines and a pool table in back, and a quiet study room. Due to the recent indoor smoking ban, the Beehive (like everywhere else) is now smoke-free.
The Beehive also has free wireless access.
At the corner of 14th and Carson, right in the heart of the South Side.
All the 51 busses go right by the front door. The 54C will let you off at 18th and Carson, just 4 blocks away.
