Elegant and affordable dining on the Mag Mile
The Grand Lux is a more upscale but affordable dining venue on the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue. It is a chain that has other locations throughout the U.S. You can also call ahead to get your order for take-out.
They have a couple of veg-friendly options. Be sure to let the servers know about your needs, so that they don't inadvertently add unwanted animal products (i.e. cheese).

My experience here was really mixed. Yes, the interior is elegant and nice and the prices were affordable (not great, but not crazy). There are a few veg dishes, including a really tasty sesame tofu dish among some pastas which can be veganized.
The only thing that will prevent me from ever returning is the incredibly horrible service. I rarely comment about service, but this was bad enough to warrant comment. The host was rude, inattentive, and lost our seating request, so we waited watching other parties who had arrived well after us get seated. The server was not much better - incredibly inattentive, never around, and forgetful of requests.
