i can't wait for this place to re-open! i thought they were gone forever and was left with nothing more than memories of the very friendly staff and awesome dishes. there were a lot of secrets around singapore ... once when i took my parents my dad got the "chef's tea." i'm not sure what it was besides tasty and not on the menu!

Singapore is a comfortable, simple looking place with a very happy and helpful staff. They are VERY, VERY slow, however. It took us (2 people) over an hour to get our entrees! I wish I could say the food was worth the wait, but, unfortunately, it wasn't. It is very mediocre in presentation and the flavors were both bland and mildly offensive. A combination that is hard to acheive!

I enjoy most exotic cuisines, so, I don't think it was a dislike for the type of food they serve. It was just not well prepared. I had one of the vegetarian entrees while my friend had a meat dish. We were both very disappointed.

This rating may reflect my personal taste. I cook a lot and so my taste for food is specific. And foods at Singapore! just deliciously compliment my taste buds to their endless joy! One small caveat: my order was mixed up (when I asked for tofu substitude for a meat dish) which I didn't mind at all. The chef somehow was embarrassed after messing up my order, and kind of withdrew himself from personal exposure to my table while still chatting with other customers. If I didn't have my wonderful lover with me, I would get a bit uncomfortable for their lack of usual friendliness to customers.

Wonderful curries! The chefs are amazing. The menu seems limited, but the city made them pare it down based on the size of the kitchen. They will jump at the chance to make "something special" just for you. When in doubt, order the captain's curry. Yummy.

I love this place! Chef Lee made a special vegan mock beef curry for me that was amazing. I can't wait to go back to try the mock shrimp dish he was talking about. Someone else mentioned this but he will only make special dishes on week nights, otherwise you will be limited to the small menu.

The prices are very reasonable, the ingredients were fresh, and the flavors intense - the way that I like them. The decor is simple and pleasant. Overall an excellent experience.

This restaurant is the best in the Cities for interesting vegan fare. Ask Chef Lee for his "invisible menu". Here you will find incredible vegan creations. He made four unbelievable dishes completely vegan that are no where to be found on a menu. This is a must for vegetarians and vegans.

Yes, this is a very good restaurant. They can make many, many of the menu items vegetarian, even the ones that seem totally meat-based in the description. I'd recommend asking for tofu specifically if you want it, just saying "vegetarian" won't always guarantee it. Also this is a pretty spicey place so say "mild' if you are tender tongued. I was there on 3/30/03 and the Ethiopian tea they were experimenting with was very good. The owners are soo nice too. What a wonderful fusion of flavors, check it out!

Fantastic place. It is a slower paced restaurant. Nice service.

I had the most amazing curry in the world here. It was a weekly special. I am one who does not like turmeric or curry, but this curry had me raving. I'm surprised a fight didn't break out at the table over the last scrapings of curry. I resorted to cleaning up the bowl of curry with a spoonful of beautiful jasmine rice (perfectly cooked) to get every bit of it eaten.

This is one of my favorites in the area. The food here is consistently amazing and flavorful. The combination of Malaysian and Ethiopian flavors produces some really amazing tastes, and I'd highly recommend asking them to prepare you a vegan version of the Asian/Ethio Spicy Lamb.

Also, for the record, I've seen the kitchen, and it's nice and clean.
