Absolutely LOVED this place. The atmosphere is upscale and gorgeous, the wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was out of this world. I don't think we had a single thing we didn't love. The waiter knew exactly what on the menu was vegan or could be done vegan. We tried a lot of things: falafel, ottomon pilaf, brussels sprouts (some of the best I've ever had - ever), hommos, piyaz, crispy potatoes, and fresh chickpeas. The best of those things were the pilaf, the brussels sprouts, hommos, and falafel. All of it was good, though. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in DC right now! The vegetarian entrees are all delicious and very reasonably priced. (Just don't order too many!) My favorite is the Havuç Köftesi (Carrot, apricot and pinenut fritters with pistachio sauce) -- amazing. The spanikopita is some of the best you'll ever have. The service is always great, though it is often very crowded & hard to get a seat on weekend nights. But all I can say is YUM! :)

Overall Zaytinya had pretty good veg-friendly food. They serve mezze, which are sort of like Middle Eastern tapas. If you need vegan choices, be sure to ask the server to point out which do not have dairy.
