Zaytinya is a Mediterranean restaurant downtown that pulls on Greek, Turkish, and Lebanese influences. They have a whole section dedicated to vegetable-based mezze dishes. There is also a bar as well as outside patio dining.Certain evenings they will feature live music/belly dancing.

Overall Zaytinya had pretty good veg-friendly food. They serve mezze, which are sort of like Middle Eastern tapas. If you need vegan choices, be sure to ask the server to point out which do not have dairy.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in DC right now! The vegetarian entrees are all delicious and very reasonably priced. (Just don't order too many!) My favorite is the Havuç Köftesi (Carrot, apricot and pinenut fritters with pistachio sauce) -- amazing. The spanikopita is some of the best you'll ever have. The service is always great, though it is often very crowded & hard to get a seat on weekend nights. But all I can say is YUM! :)
