Terrific Indian Fast Food
I walked into this place looking for a lunch buffet, but what I found was a nice fast-food restaurant with a wide variety of vegetarian choices.
Lunch specials (each $5.49) with rice, pakora, and salad, include Saag Paneer (spinch with cheese), Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower), Mixed Vegetable (in a curry sauce), and Channa Masala (chickpeas in a madrasa sauce).
From their regular menu, appetizers include Vegetable Samosa and Pakoras. There's also a decent Mulligatawny soup (made with lentils) for just $2.
For Entrees, you'll find such tried-and-true favorites as the meals listed for lunch specials, as well as:
Baingan Bhartha (eggplant with onions and tomatoes)
Aloo Matter (potatoes and peas in a tomato curry)
Okra Curry (with onions and tomatoes)
Vegetable Korma (with nuts in a cream sauce)
Mattar Paneer (peas with cheese in a tomato cream sauce)
Dal Makhani (dark lentils)
Vegetable Jalfrazie (with tomatoes, bell pepper, and cauliflower)
Mushroom Shahi Masala (paneer and mushroom in a tomato sauce)
Vegetable Biryani (curried vegetables with rice, nuts, and raisins)
There's also a plethora of warm breads to choose from, including my favorite: Aloo Paratha (whole wheat bread stuffed with spiced potatoes).
For dessert, try some of their Kheer (almonds and raisins in a rice pudding).
If you want something fast and piping hot (that tastes great), this is the place to go!
