My boyfriend and I were both disappointed in the quality of the food at Vegetable Delight. Since its rating here at VegGuide was almost as high as that of Madeleine Bistro, we came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not live up to them. Following the suggestions here, we ordered the mixed appetizers, the wonton soup, the lemon chicken and the eggplant with basil. The eggplant basil and the wonton soup weren't bad, but the mixed appetizers and the lemon chicken, although they had the texture of meat, were nearly flavorless. The lemon chicken was also much too sweet. All in all, we can't fathom why Vegetable Delight has received a relatively high rating here. On the upside, though, the meal was affordable (especially for L.A.), so if you want to check it out for yourself, you won't be out too much $. As for us, we don't plan to return there.

P.S. For much better seitan, I recommend A Single Pebble in Burlington, Vermont.

Oh, how I do love Vegetable Delight! My son and I discovered this restaurant many years ago, and have become friends with Bill and Lee. The service is lovely, and the food -- oh, the FOOD!!! I have WAYYYYYY too many favorites to mention, but I definitely suggest that, no matter what else you order, go with the "Mixed Appetizers," which are mouth-droolingly good -- and FUN! If the weather's cool, definitely also have the "Wonton Soup," which will be soul-satisfying. Okay, okay, I can't NOT mention either the original "Lemon Chicken," or the "Beef with Broccoli," or the "Sweet and Sour Pork." Texture, flavor, pure enjoyment. Oh, now I'm also remembering the "Princess Ham." Oh, my!

Parking's a cinch, by the way, which is a huge plus.

And the atmosphere is simple and nice -- very relaxing -- and you can dress as you please.

DO tell Lee or Bill that I, Susie V Kaufman, strongly recommended their wonderful, fantastic, super-duper, outstandingly great restaurant! And have a terrific time experiencing their menu for the very first time. You WILL be back!

In the entire valley there are very few restaurants where I could walk in and not worry about what part of the menu is suitable for my vegetarian taste because here the entire menu is nothing but vegetarian dishes. All just as good if not better than anything I've ever tried, and I eat out practically every day of the week, this place is worth looking up. Every one of my friends whom I've taken in agree, Vegetable Delight is the best Chinese vegetarian restaurant in this side of California!

Of all the restaurants that I have been to that specialize in vegetarian food Vegetable Delight was the best.

Great place. Wonderful food, great service. Writing this review reminds me that I have not been there in a few months, so I guess we will dine here this weekend! A great favorite. Everything we tried so far was great. One of the only places where I eat spring rolls, and only after I made them show me the wonton skins package...

I've been here several times whenever I had the misfortune of being in Los Angeles, and it is my favorite restaurant in the area. I keep ordering the lemon chicken, which is served on a bed of shredded lettuce that adds a nice contrasting texture. It's so delicious that it tastes like dinner and dessert all in one.

Even though I always order the same thing, my companion has ordered different items, all of which I've sampled and been very impressed by.

Service is friendly and the parking situation isn't as horrendous as it can be in more centrally located restaurants.

I've eaten a LOT of veggie Chinese, but this place is hands-down my favorite, and the favorite of my friends. Instead of substituting mushrooms for meat, they actually have several kinds of fake meat they use, and many are incredibly convincing. They don't skimp on the sauce or flavoring, and only a few times have I tried something I didn't like. Their menu is fairly extensive and in recent months has expanded to include vegan desserts and raw food options. My favorite dishes are the sweet and pungent chicken, lemon chicken, steamed dumplings, beef with snow peas, and vegetable lo mein. I've had friends drive an hour just to eat here.
