What a fantastic restaurant and grocery! The grocery was very well-stocked and the prices were reasonable. I grabbed some vegan potato salad for the road (only $3) and an interesting-looking book on the secrets to longevity (only $16!) so we'll see if I'm still posting VegGuide.org reviews 100 years from now.
As for the restaurant, I thought they had a great selection of foods and the portions are huge for the pirce. I started with the vegan eggwich (tofu-like egg thing w/ vegan cheese and avocado on top of an English muffin). This was fantastic, came with fries, and was only $6. It would make the perfect small meal but I'm greedy so I also go the vegan Rueben sandwich. I loved this sandwich and it was HUGE. I took half of it to go and it made a great snack on the plane the next day. I also tried the chocolate mint shake, which was delicious and also very big.
The only thing I didn't care for was my friend's vegan fish sandwich. I understand vegan fish can be hard to do, but FYH didn't even attempt with this one. They just breaded a huge slab of tofu, put some tarter sauce on it, and called it a fish sandwich. The sandwich wasn't bad, in fact, it was fairly tasty, it just wasn't a fish sandwich and it was super heavy on the tofu.
I also appreciated that they had an outdoor dining area, so we got to enjoy our food in the open air, surrounded by plants. It was lovely. :)
