A high end Northern Italian restaurant.
Il Capriccio offers a high quality menu of mostly Northern Italian inspired dishes that change based on the season. Although very expensive, part of the restaurant's attraction is that the space feels very intimate because it is divided into a number of smaller rooms divided by glass partitions and appropriate lighting.
Directions:
If you are coming from the Waltham Common, take Main Street going West. Il Capriccio is on the left at the intersection of Main and Prospect. If you come to the Shell Station, you've gone too far.

Il Capriccio has really exceptionally good food. The porcini mushroom appetizer is amazing, although also amazingly rich (share it), as is the lemon mousse. While there were only a few vegetarian items on the menu when I visited, I would consider the restaurant quite vegetarian-friendly. The staff were very knowledgeable about whether the menu items were vegetarian, and because everything is cooked to order, they are able to put together alternatives that are not actually on the menu, if requested. The evening I visited, there were a number of delicious sounding vegetarian components of other dishes, which could have been made into several additional vegetarian options.
