This African/Jamaican restaurant was a Best of Veg winner in 2005! They have a wide selection of organic food and smoothies. There is a second location in Oakland. They also have delicious vegan deserts. The service is friendly, but a bit slow. The owner/server won't handle your cash; you have to put it in the cash register yourself.
The lunch special is available from 11:30am to 3pm. It's only $8 for which you get: a yummy "Osho's Bliss Burger", the smoothie of the day and your choice of fried plantains or salad with a gingery dressing. If you want, you can add soy cheese or barbecue sauce for 50 cents, or avocado for 75.
Note that Saturday they open at 6pm, and they don't take credit cards.
