Vietnamese restaurant in DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace at Canal Park

Taste of Saigon has a long list of vegetarian entrees. They seem to be making an effort to court vegetarians, as they advertise the fact that they have vegetarian meals and sport a Peta "Vegetarian Meals Served Here" sticker on the window.

In addition to Vietnamese they also offer some Chinese-style dishes.

My wife and I always visit Taste of Saigon when we come to Duluth. They are willing to work with you on choices what ingredients to leave out. Your mileage varies with servers on whether or not they know what is vegan or not - some know exactly what dish has what. Be sure to always request no oyster sauce, fish sauce, fried egg or chicken broth when ordering.

We really like the spicy curry mock duck with potatoes (be sure to order without oyster sauce). The vegetable fried rice (be sure to order without chicken broth, fish sauce and fried egg) is quite good and comes with a lot more vegetables than most "standard" Asian fare restaurants. Prices are very decent and the wait staff is nice and courteous.

They now have a good handle on the vegan thing, the host/server person was very helpful, and the food was very good, the Mongolian tofu does indeed rock the house. the mock duck in garlic sauce was tasty too.

This is much better Vietnamese that you would expect to find in Duluth. I have had the lemon grass tofu (OK), Mongolian tofu (really good), a decent curry dish, and possibly some others. They are VERY friendly here, and although I'm not sure they understand the terms "vegan" or "vegetarian", they will leave out fish sauce/chicken stock upon request.

I had the Lemongrass Mock Duck and my wife had Tofu Veggie Fried Rice. The fried rice was quite good and my mock duck was tasty. It wasn't anything amazing but given the fact that it was very cheap (about $7 for each dish) and the portions were generous, it was an excellent deal. I'd definitely go back there on a future trip to Duluth.
