New veg Ideas Brought to Life in Classic Diner Dishes
Bragg's Factory Diner brings American diner food, veg style, to Grand Ave in central Phoenix. Breakfast fare includes flaxseed pancakes, banana pancakes, French toast with orange slices, coconut curry waffles, and scramble options (with tofu or eggs). Lunch offers items such as a fried avocado sandwich, an eggplant-based BLT (aka ELT) sandwich, a Southwestern-style beet burger, and a veg version of the classic Reuben made with portobello mushrooms. And, of course, they have pie, including rhubarb pie, served from a refurbished 1950's style rotating pie-case.
Expect a low key, relaxed, and comfortable ambiance.
Also open on First Friday evenings.

Food is delicious and great desserts. Place is very small with limited seating. Other than limited seating, my only negative is they need to take a day off and really clean the place; the tables are tacky to the touch. Service is always pleasant, although there is usually only one server for about 10 tables (including outside). Clean dining area and an additional server during peak times would make this place excellent!
This is a vegetarian restaurant, but pretty much anything can be made vegan. They offer retro style breakfast and lunch food with a few twists. Eating their potato salad is really a blast from the past - creamy, consistent, and topped with bacon bits. My Ruben was very tasty and I tried some eggplant bacon that was good also. Everyone I talked to seems to have different opinions on each dish, but everyone found something they liked.
Lately, they have been offering karaoke nights on third Fridays, during which they have a food special otherwise unavailable on the menu. They are now open for dinner Tuesday - Saturday.
