The cafe is slightly separated from the bar section, and is non-smoking and kid-friendly until 9pm. There's a small outdoor garden, a large-ish back room for gigs, etc., and a few upstairs rooms for private hire.
Currently (early 2005) undergoing a major refit (though they're still open) to improve the kitchens, install a lift, etc.
From the ring road, turn left onto Moorgate. Then it's 500 metres up the hill from the Dukes Playhouse, on the lefthand side, by the Moorgate Chippy.

Clearly marked veggie/vegan options. The breakfast are good, as are the burgers. Still no sign of soya milk though (but the coffees are good regardless, and they're organic/fair trade.)
