all organic vegan cafe
salads, sandwiches, veggie burgers, mushroom dishes, breakfasts, smoothies (brought in from the juice bar across the street), and baked goods. all vegan ("plant based") and organic. they do not have any official hours and don't plan to answer the phone, but they are generally open until 10pm, it would seem. the cafe has a Rastafarian feel, complete with indoor trees and a reggae musical backdrop.

A wonderful new totally ORGANIC vegetarian restaurant in S.F. They grow their own veggies! Even though it is called a cafe, you can also get real meals here too, so it's really a small restaurant/cafe.
Much of the indoor decor is hand built. The place feels wonderful. Like those old-time hippie places in the ‘60’s, with lots of plants. There is one "community table" - a great place to meet new friends.
The salads are so great there should be a different name for what they are. The sesame dressing is just wonderful - and oil-free.
The soba noodle plus greens dish was also excellent. Others have raved about the veggie burgers -- haven't tried them yet, and about the vegan chocolate cake, and the coffee and healing tea.
The hot chocolate is made with organic Dagoba chocolate -- heavenly. (Tell them if you don't want coconut in it.)
Everything is made to order, so you can’t go there in a rush. There is a real wait for your food.
It’s kitty-corner from an excellent health food grocery -- Other Avenues Food Store, at 3930 Judah St, so you could order and then walk over there for a bit.

It’s right on the corner. The front is small and unobtrusive, not even a sign, so take the address with you (4001 Judah at 45th St. in the Sunset).
It has been open less than a year, and originally the hours were not totally set -- but now they are. These are their current hours:

Tue-Fri 11-3, 5-9
Sat-Sun 9-3, 5-9
This is true right now (January 06), but they occasionally adjust their hours, so it wouldn't hurt to call first if you're reading this review much past this date.
Since it is all made to order, tell them if you have an allergy or sensitivity to something. And, if you find the music too loud, just tell them, and they will gladly lower the volume.
