Typhoon is an upscale, trendily decorated restaurant attached to Hotel Lucia in downtown Portland. The menu has a number of vegetarian and vegan options, and the staff is knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes.

This is our favorite Thai restaurant in Portland. Plenty of delicious vegetarian options to choose from. The flavors are fresh and the portions are generous so ordering "family style" is easy.

Very good meals with a nice large selection of vegetarian dishes. Portions are not small either.
This is a fantastic restaurant and a true gem in the Thai restaurant universe. They offer brown rice, which I use as a proxy for vegetarian understanding, or rather the ability to make things taste great without using meat as a flavor. I was unable to determine if they use fish sauce, so if someone else can find that out and report back that would be helpful.
