Cozy and colorful pure vegan restaurant.
Melanie's Vegan Eden offers gourmet vegan entrees in a casual and colorful small restaurant setting. Favorites include: Fear and Loathing in Philly (steak and cheese sub -- all vegan, of course), Daddio's Jive Turkey ("turkey" club sandwich), the Stinky Cheeseman (a chicken, mashed potato and mushroom gravy entree) and vegan pizzas and cheesecakes.
Melanie's also features smoothies, esoteric salads and the "world's best" vegan cheesecake.
I-95 to I-195 East. Take exit 2 (Wickenden St/India St) and make left at end of ramp onto Wickenden. Go thru two lights and two stop signs to the blinking red light. Make left onto Ives. Melanie's is one block up on the left.

One of the best restaurants we've eaten at across the country. Although the dining area is very small, the food far outweighs the comfort of the space. Meals are unbelievably tasty and creative. My 6-year old loved the "chick" nuggets. My BLT was the single best BLT imaginable. I've spent the last couple of months trying to recreate it but it's impossible. Worth a a very long drive!
