when i went there after they first opened, i was told everything was cooked in ghee. perhaps they've changed that? if you don't know and you're vegan, i'd ask. we basically had to get up and leave.

The service was good, the food was great. They could have more vegan options - and the server said that they are looking to exland their vegetarian selection, which would be great. Most of their breads can be made vegan, just ask them to make them 'dry' (without butter). The Aloo Tikki (curry leaf flavored potato pancakes) were really good, as well as their samosas. They brought out some flat bread/cracker-type/taco shell looking things and mint and tamarind chutneys for us to snack on while we looked at the menus - quite a treat. I've never been to an Indian restaurant where they bring out anything for free. :) I had the Chana Masala - chickpeas, onions, and tomatoes cooked in a dry sauce, and I thought it was fabulous. My mom let me sample her vegetable biryani (rice with veggies, herbs, spices, cashews, and raisins - and it was great, too. The onion kulcha was also great!
