I like Harrison Street Coffee Shop. Don't visit as much as I used to do....do to my schedule. I LOVE the pumpkin bread! Great, tasty snack. The Tempeh Sub and Falafel Subs are delicious. I was addicted to the Ethiopian coffee, but, I have eliminated coffee from my diet. Nice, informal hang out spot for a quick snack. I understand the business aspect but it would be better if they said open late in Spring-Fall....say 10 or 11 PM.

YUM! Harrison Street has the most delicious food. They are a little pricey, but definitely worth it. My favorite is the Power Salad with Lentil Balls! The lentil is so delicious. Go. And Enjoy :)

I am a vegetarian and I love this place. The food is delicious, but a bit expensive for college students. My favorite is the falafel burger but soups are often delicious and filled with protein. It is a good place to meet friends between classes and the booth seating is great for people watching :) I don't know what kind of soy milk they use but the baristas make yummy soy lattes. Everyone is always friendly and the service is fairly fast. I only wish they were open later.

I've been in Richmond for 5 years and enjoyed Iced Vanilla Chai Soy Lattes and Vegan Pumpkin Breads for many meals... I love the atmosphere, the staff and I'm beginning to actually love vegan cuisine (I'm a very picky, limited vegetarian who misses poultry occasionally). I highly recommend the BBQ Tofu Sandwich, Rotini Salad, and "Meat"ball Sub! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the Vanilla and Spiced Chai Soy Lattes (Iced and Hot), Vegan Pumpkin Bread & Blondies!

I've been eating at Harrison St. for a few years now, and I have to say that I am never disappointed. The staff is amazingly courteous, and the food is generally quite fast. I always order the BBQ Tofu Sandwich, and I have never found a substitute for that dish anywhere else. They also have some of the best soups everyday for a reasonable price. The vegan blondies are amazing as well as the other vegan dessert options. Most vegetarian food can be a matter of taste, but even for the non-veggies I know, they eat at Harrison St. The menu is also incredibly specific for which items can be made available vegan, or which ones are not vegan to begin with (for example, fakin' has eggs in it). Thanks Harrison St!

I really don't get all of these bad reviews. Harrison St. has got to be the absolute best place around Richmond to get coffee and food. I've been about 50+ times, and I have NEVER had a bad experience there. Everything is absolutely delicious, and although their lunch items can be a bit pricey compared to other places, I consider them a steal for the quality and overall delicious-ness of the food. I even brought my grandmother and family there, who are all omnivores, and they agreed that it was the best food they'd had in a long time.

This restaurant is, at its base, a coffee shop, that happens to have great food. If you're looking for Starbuck's plaster-faced greeters, please go there. Everybody is entitled to a bad day now and if you try to be pleasant yourself or try to be empathetic, it usually helps. Plus, not many workers appreciate people waiting outside the door for them to open. Just chill out. That is definitely what this cafe is about.

I feel bad for Janine up there, every time I've been there the staff has been extremely friendly and courteous. It's a shame you had to leave before the food as its excellent as well. Personally the only reason to get out of bed on Saturday morning is a cup of coffee and Vegan French Toast with Soysage from Harrison Street.

Being a vegan, and having read several positive reviews of this establishment, I was really looking forward to stopping in for some Sunday brunch. We arrived just as the restaurant was opening, at 11 a.m. The employee who let us in appeared to be angry and barely responded to us when I said good morning. She was extremely rude and ungracious as my companion tried to help her by holding the door as she carried a bulletin board outside. Unfortunately, we never got as far as the food. We were so offended by the employee, I doubt we'll ever go back.
