Formal atmosphere. Cajun specialties and dessert specialties. Has complicated hours so make sure to check their website for when they're open. They open for breakfast, then close briefly before opening for lunch and then have a long close in the middle of the day before dinner. Hours vary by the day and by the meal.

Excellent and amazingly vegan-friendly. The service was superb.
This place was superb! There wasn't anything on the menu that could obviously be adapted to be vegan, so I asked the waiter what he recommended. The chef made me a special plate that the carnivores at the table were jealous of! He made a couscous stuffed red pepper with red pepper sauce, heri covert green beans with a shallot coulis, caramelized onions and olives. It was truly a gourmet meal!
The service was friendly and fun. This was definitely the best dining experience I had in New Orleans.
I recently moved back to New Orleans and have been amazed at how willing (and enthusiastic) chefs at restaurants like Cafe Adelaide have been to prepare an off-menu vegan meal for me. I was expecting a $30 veggie plate, but was very pleasantly surprised at the fabulous improptu vegan meal I received. Coupled with a freshly-made lime daiquiri from Swizzle Stick, it was perfection!
