Vegetarian & Vegan Friendly Indian Restaurant
Rajbhog (meaning a "king's offerings to the gods"), is an all-vegetarian Indian restaurant and sweet shop that offers many vegan items, including some of the desserts, which are usually made with milk and ghee (clarified butter). Snack items like samosas and veggie patties are always available but daily specials are rotated, thus there is no regular menu available. Typical items include: veggie fried rice, chickpeas, eggplant, okra, chickpea cakes, and lentils.
While most Indian restaurants in New York specialize in North Indian food, and a sizable number specialize in South Indian fare, Rabjhog spcializes in East Indian food, and offers harder-to find items like patra and dhokla.
The staff is knowledgeable regarding which items are vegan.
