Horizons has excellent food. I had the BBQ seitan for an appetizer which was delicious. The herb garbanzo crusted tempeh was delightful. The creme brulee was wonderful way to end the meal.

Some of the best vegan food I've ever had in any part of the US. Everything was artfully prepared and presented with top-quality service. The golden beet tapas were succulent and its accompanying edamame puree just amazed me. The portobella carpaccio was delicate and tender. The Bourbon BBQ tempeh was filling and tasty, but I found that the Pacific Rim Tofu was tastier and had better side dishes (ponzu brocolini, edamame mash). For dessert, make sure to try their cheesecake or their chocolate peanut butter ice cream brownie, both of which were top-notch. Prices are high, but the quality of the food is five-star gourmet.

very good vegan gourmet. my favorite is the bbq seitan. also try the mojitos. very delicious fresh mint and lime, the best in the city. deserts are hit or miss (for the prices).

Wow, Horizons has some really fantastic food. I went there with my wife, my parents, and my aunt, and we all were raving about the food we had. This is especially impressive, given that my parents and aunt are not vegan, and were a little wary of what the food might be like. Afterward they were all talking about what they'd order next time.

Everything I tasted was really good. The entree I ordered, the grilled seitan, was delicious. I also loved the hearts of palm "paella", which was grilled rice cakes, not traditional paella. The Jamaican BBQ seitan appetizer was also excellent.

For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse, which was wonderfully rich. I wish they'd had a chocolate cake dessert, but this was nothing to sneeze at.

A previous review suggests that the restaurant is not vegan, just vegetarian, but I'm pretty sure it's 100% vegan now. Maybe they used to be just vegetarian.

The inside of the restaurant is quite nice, and the tables are not too close together. The latter fact means that they don't have a lot of seating, so reservations are highly recommended. In particular, they can't handle many groups of more than four people, so plan ahead.

All of the dishes have an amazing layering of flavors! It is by far my favorite vegetarian restaurant and has been for years. I have brought many non-veg friends here and they have all walked away amazed and interested in coming back again! Also, the new location actually has a bar upstairs and downstairs serving beer, wine and spirits. ~Colleen

The best vegetarian food in the world! Expensive but well worth the price. RECENTLY MOVED TO NEW DIGS IN PHILLY, AWAY FROM SUBURBIA. My name is Morty McNutt and that is all I have to say.

Horizon's is a great place you can take anyone to. It's a very social, and can get rather loud (and busy!) on weekends. It's one of those few places that's welcoming to vegans, vegetarians, and non-veg*ans. The menu is very vegan friendly with nearly, if not all, lunch/dinner items able to be made vegan. Dessert is another issue...

Word of advice: Make reservations for the weekends. And make them for early! 7 PM reservations can still leave you waiting 30 minutes. And it's BYOB.
