ALL VEGAN!! Super good bakery, muffins, cookies, bread, cakes and pies. If you have a sweet tooth and don't mind a LOT of sugar you'll be in heaven. Don't come looking for healthy bakery though , you could get fat on this stuff and still stay vegan:)

Their baked goods are AMAZING!! I especially love their pecan fingers. I usually buy their products at Whole Foods or Sentry, but would love to actually be able to go to their store. One Saturday morning I tried to go really early to East Side Ovens, but the building looked very abandoned and was completely locked and dark.

Is this place still around? I love their turnovers and their peanut butter chocolate chip cookies but I don't see them around as much as I used to. My friends used to tease me because I'd go to the South Shore farmers market and come home with a bag full of baked goods from the East Side Ovens stand!

East Side Ovens is a vegan staple in Milwaukee and is probably one of the best buisnesses you could support. I used to head up Alliance For Animals (UWM animal rights group) and East Side Ovens was always very supportive of us.

Their chocolate strawberry cake is my favorite cake (they also bake large cakes for parties!) and my favorite pastry is the strawberry rhubarb pie. My mom is a big fan of the blueberry scones. Oh yeah, they're wheat bread (square, not round) is amazing. So, pretty much everything is good, although I find the frozen burritos a bit bland.

The vegan baked goods sold here are always excellent and the service is always great. Along with sweets, they sell homemade frozen dinner item such as pot pies, burritos and sloppy joe pockets; all vegan. They are great to have on hand for a quick and easy meal.
