Last month of June my husband and I, two middle-aged Italians, spent a week in Berlin, guests of a couple of German friends of ours. They wanted to please us organizing an Italian dinner for us and some other friends and entrusted “Giulio Mietkoch” with the preparation of the dinner.
We are rather demanding in fact of food, but I must admit that Giulio, a young Italian guy with an university degree in political sciences and a strong passion for cuisine, was equal to the task. We enjoyed some Italian and Mediterranean dishes, strictly vegetarian, that we found traditional and original at the same time. We also appreciated the presentation of the different courses and the kindness of Giulio in answering our questions about the ingredients and cooking of the food.
We especially appreciated “Pasta con il broccolo arriminato (Pasta with cauliflower, pine nuts and raisins)” and “Tortino di caprino e patè d’olive (Fresh goat cheese pie with olive paste)”
