Vietnamese is one of my favorite cuisines so I was pretty excited to learn that Cafe TH offers vegan pho. However, I was incredibly disappointed with the quality of the food here. Instead of the pho being a vibrant, colorful soup with lots of tofu/soy meat/veggies, it was basically rice noodles with onions and snow peas (odd!). I only got one small piece of tofu in the pho and the snow peas were way overcooked. As for the fresh veggies that are served with pho, there were no lime wedges or fresh jalapeno (which are very typical), although there was fresh basil and mint and bean sprouts, although the sprouts didn't look that fresh.

I tried my friend's curry and rice and it had a decent flavor but it wasn't anything spectacular and actually tasted like a generic Indian curry and not something uniquely Vietnamese. We shared an order of vegan egg rolls, which weren't on the menu, and they were pretty good. They had a somewhat tough, thick skin, and were nice and crispy and were stuffed with cauliflower, jalapenos, and other veggies, which made them more interesting than the usual spring rolls or vegan egg rolls. My non-veg friend thought they were fantastic but I thought they were a little tough and overfried.

I got a tofu banh mi sandwich to go, which I had for lunch the next day. Without the mayo (they offer no vegan mayo), the sandwich was a little plain and bready, which is pretty typical for a lot of vegan banh mi sandwiches, so I won't hold that against Cafe TH. My friend and I also shared the fried bananas and she had the ice cream on the side since it wasn't vegan. The fried banana itself was really good, nice and sweet and crispy, although it would definitely be better if there were vegan ice cream with it.

Clearly, I wasn't impressed with the food and I likely won't return, but I will say that the service was excellent. The server was very friendly, patient, and happy to explain menu items and make suggestions for vegan items not listed on the menu.
