Small deli featuring swanky downtown food.

Grocery/Bakery/Deli, Caterer

Small Deli on the first floor of the Medical Arts Building. They have vegan and vegetarian options (salads and soups) you can order and take with you. The couscous salad and Grilled Vegetables are both vegan, as well as the bread. They also have potato chips. The vegetarian soups are the Minestrone and Tomato Basil - both have dairy in them, though. The seasonal soup is sometimes vegan.

I passed by this place on a desperate search for something to eat before my appointment in the medical arts building, but when I couldn't find anything to suit me at Target, I decided to swing in and see what they had. When I asked if they had any vegan options, the workers were friendly and well-meaning - though they did point out some things that obviously had dairy in them. I told them I needed something without dairy and they were very helpful. The seasonal soup today was a squash soup that was vegan, though I didn't try it. The cous cous salad was good, it had cucumber, tomato, scallions, chick peas, lemon, and olive oil. It was a bit pricey at $3 for half a pint, but I was kind of desperate. It certainly did beat picking up some sunflower seeds at Target, though.

UPDATE: I was in again and asked what they had for vegan options that day and the staff knew exactly what vegan meant. I tried grilled vegetables with an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing and they were fabulous. While this place doesn't have many vegan options, they sure know what is and isn't vegan and are up front about it. They have been super friendly both times I've been in, too!
