Formerly the only all-vegetarian Indian restaurant in KC

Previously called Udipi Café, the former award-winning vegetarian restaurant is now a non-veg restaurant. And while the portions are smaller and the food isn't as spectacular, it's still a good choice for Indian food in KC. Be sure to ask for "no dairy" if you're vegan--while many entrees are vegetarian, very few are vegan. The end of each meal comes with free chai (has milk) and donut-like dessert (has honey).

Voted Best Vegetarian Restaurant by KC's The Pitch in 2002, this veg-only Indian restaurant has a large menu with a wide variety of interesting, flavorful dishes. They cook exclusively in vegetable oil—no ghee. The buffet rotates constantly and they are really friendly if you ask which trays are vegan. The food's on the spicy side.
