My vegetarian doctor recommended I try the Loving Hut. The cafe is cozy and inviting. When I went in the television was set to a news channel with multiple subtitles. The program reported several stories of animal rescue operations. I was not offended by the news and I do not think any of my friends would have been either. It was actually refreshing to hear about people doing good things.
The owner, a very friendly Asian man, greeted me and took my order. I explained to him that I was allergic to wheat, gluten, all grains, soy, tofu, peanuts, cayenne pepper, and most spices. He told me he could omit all the things I was allergic to but that I might not like them. I told him not to worry. I ordered three entrees because I was really craving vegetables and I wanted to have left overs to eat for breakfast in my hotel.
I ordered the guru curry soup with sweet potatoes and no spices. It was delicious! If you like spicy food, you will love this soup! I would order the guru curry again! I also ordered Stir fried bok choy, and Holy Eggplant without sauce. The Holy Eggplant with the sauce is one of the most popular dishes. I recommend getting it prepared as usual. I will pass on the eggplant next time. A patron, told me their favorite thing was the Holy Eggplant with the sauce. So if you are not allergic to soy, the sauce makes the dish dynamite.
I am happy to report that the Loving Hut can successfully accommodate vegans with allergies.
