Middle of the road, no-frills Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine. The vegetarian and vegan options here are pretty much what they are at most Indian restaurants: alu gobi (cauliflour and potato), chana saag (spinach and chick peas), vegetable korma (mixed veggies in cream sauce), etc. The quality of the food varies. Dinner can be good, but the lunch buffet often seems like an opportunity for the cooks to reuse and get rid of leftovers. The prices are reasonable - about $8-9 for an entree (including rice) and around $7 for the lunch buffet. A decent place if you happen to be in the area, but ultimately can't hold a candle to the Udupi Cafe.

They bring out the flat bread/crackers and yummy green sauce before the meal, which is great. The whole wheat tandoori bread was good and not too expensive, but the entrees tasted kind of weird. I had the Dal made with no dairy, which may have had something to do with the odd taste. I was expecting brown lentils, and I think they used yellow split peas, and I ordered it medium spicy, which may have affected it, too. My husband got Aloo Gobi, and that didn't impress too much either. I think we're spoiled to Udupi. Moi Mahal on Franklin is better, too. One odd thing I swore I would mention in my review is the semi-graphic panting on the wall of a woman straddling a man... I was surprised to see it on display in a restaurant.
