Thai
Ultra-Veg-Friendly Thai Cuisine just west of ASU
This restaurant was formerly known as The Pink Pepper, and it has as many vegetarian Thai selections as anywhere in town!
Not to mention that this place hardly resembles the former Pink Pepper. The decor has received a significant makeover, transforming a once-ordinary looking place into an upscale venue. (Perfect for starting a romantic night out.)
As for the food, the Veg options include 3 appetizers (Spring rolls, Fried tofu, and Crispy Sweet potato; each $5.50); two Veg soups (Coconut or Bean Thread; each $7.95); and numerous delectable entrees (ranging in price from $6 to $7.50).
For Vegetarians, these entrees include 5 selections from the Vegetarian portion of the menu (4 of which are served with Jasmine rice). there's Pad Thai Tofu, Curry Tofu, Eggplant Tofu, Sweet and Sour Tofu, and Garlic Vegetables.
Thai Basil also has 5 Curry-based entrees, each with a different assortment of vegetables (and your choice of protein) in a curry sauce.
Plus, there's 7 Stir-fried entrees, which are vegetables with your choice of protein in either a garlic or soy sauce.
Then, if that's not enough to choose from, there's rice and noodle plates; with vegetables and your choice of protein (in either garlic sauce, black bean sauce, or soy sauce). Talk about variety!
For dessert, choose from sticky rice (with either Thai custard or fresh mango) or the FBI (fried banana ice cream).
Enjoy!

my FAVORITE restaurant in ARIZONA!
Order the massman curry with tofu and add broccoli!
the silver bean noodles are yummy too!
My only complaint is the outrageous xtra chanrge for brown rice!
Thai Basil is always packed during lunch time, so either show up early or a little bit later. Also, their dinner prices are a little bit more expensive (you have to pay $2 extra per person just to get brown rice instead of white). I highly suggest trying their eggplant dishes and the curry soup...mmmmm!
Thai Basil is amazing! The flavors and aromas envelope the senses the moment the food arrives. Although I am not a vegetarian, I have many friends that are and I have a great appreciation for this restaurant for catering to all types of palettes. The flavors and textures of all the vegetarian entrees I have ordered have always been on par with the traditional non-vegetarian flavors.

I've eaten at Thai Basil many times and i have always been pleased. The food is always tastey and alot better then other Thai restaurants i've been too. I just ate lunch there today and i ordered garlic chilli vegetables with tofu. It tasted fine and i basically enjoyed it. On my way home on the bus, i started feeling very sick to my stomach. I had to get off the bus and vomit. I still cant get the taste of the food i ate there out of my mouth. I dont know but i think they must have been using a dirty oil or an old oil and i will not go back there again for a long while.I still feel sick now, serval hours later. And i'm going to call the manager of Thai Basil and let them know.

They have the best Tom Kah (coconut soup) I have had so far and the fried banana with ice-cream is really good too. Nice ambiance and friendly people.

My husband and I love this place. We moved to Phoenix from Seattle where there is a Thai place on every other street corner. This is the only place we have found that holds a candle to what we are used to. He loves the red curry I love the peanut curry. The menu doesn't say there is broccoli in the peanut curry so I thought I was safe from my least favorite vegetable. Broccoli soaked in peanut sauce is delicious! I have heard it said that Thai Basil's tofu is the best and I have to agree.
Try the vegetarian egg rolls as an appetizer, the other vegetarian appatizers are pretty good too. If you are there with a non-vegetarian the apatizer sampler would be a good choice.
