"meh" I think is the word I'd used to summarize the food. The hummus was blah, and I really didn't like their baba either. I will say that the beans and rice dish was pretty good. I'm not really compelled to come back.

The Baba Ganouj is killer- enough garlic to make one hallucinate.

I really like Emily's Lebanese Deli. Their lentils and rice may sound bland and boring, but it is one of the best comfort foods. They also serve very tasty Baba Ganouj (a rich smoky eggplant dip). I agree with the other reviews that the tabouli and spinach pies are also delicious. The wood paneled atmosphere leaves something to be desired and the service is not usually friendly, but there's always take-out.

I'll agree with the great tabouli comments. Not too acidic at all. The hummus wasn't great - bland and a bit too runny for me. The bread (without melted butter) was really good, too. Two of us ate for $10 bucks - pretty good.

I love Emily's! This Minneapolis "institution" is a classic, authentic, family run, Lebanese Deli. It is small but worth it. Of course, being a deli there is take-out available. My favorites are: Lentil and Rice with Tabouli, Kidney Beans and Rice with Tabouli, Spinach Pie, and Tabouli! I'd rate it higher if they had more Veg*n selections. People there are nice.

For years my canoe buddy Greg and I have made the "last stop in town" at Emily's for awesome Tabouli, Spinach Pie, and Stuffed Grape Leaves before heading Up North to the Boundary Waters. Yes, the hummus could stand to be 'kicked up a notch' or two ... but the garlic in the Tabouli and in the Spinach Pies more than made up for any weaker sibling foods. Not only that, but after all of that garlic, I never had any problems with mosquitos in the North Country ... seriously. Great restaurant, great aromas, great T-shirts, great tastes. Great.

yep, the tabouli here is delicious -- my favorite in town. the spinach pie is not too bad, either. but yes, beyond that, the very few vegetarian options remaining are utterly bland and uninspired. the hummus is some of the worst i've ever had in a middle eastern restaurant. so, go there if you're in the mood for a splendid light lunch of tabouli, lebanese bread, and maybe a spinach pie.

The tabouli is indeed fantastic here, but the hummus is grainy and somewhat bland, and the other vegetarian selections basically amount to rice and beans, which isn't too exciting.
