bagel shop w/ vegan cream cheese
Pick a Bagel is a deli/bagel shop that has all the typical bagels (plain, raisin, everything, whole wheat, garlic, poppy, pumpernickle, salt, etc.), and offer various vegan cream cheeses: plain (tofu), tofu scallion, and tofu vegetable. Beware of the tofu lox, which is non-dairy, but contains lox (fish), in case you had never heard of it.
Directions:
L train to 14th and walk north to 22nd or 6 train to 23rd and walk east to 3rd Ave

YUUUUUUUUUM. Not the largest selection of tofu cream cheeses, but three varieties isn't bad. I had the sourdough bagel, which was very tasty, as was the tofu scallion cream cheese that topped it.
I really liked that this place toasts the bagel first so that it's nice and warm and the cream cheese melts a bit. I prefer it to Ess-a-Bagel for this reason (also because Ess often has a long line), and perhaps it's why they charge about 40 cents more.
