A Small, On-Campus Vegetarian Place

Restaurant, Coffee/Tea/Juice

This is a small vegetarian restaurant in the basement of the Channing-Murray Society Building (looks like a red and white church). In fact, all the food is vegan. Its only open during the academic year, but it is a great place to stop and get a quick bite to eat. Its cheap and the menu changes daily: one or more entrees (usually two), a few soups, and some sandwiches. Sometimes, if you are lucky, there are cookies or other baked goods as well.

Note that Red Herring is open only for lunch when school is in session. In the evening, it becomes more of a coffee shop with live music.

This is the only place in town to find all vegetarian food. The atmosphere is Church Basement but it has a nice casual feel that is conducive to a sit and visit lunch. The food is mostly quite good. Sometimes it is a bit rustic for me but it is good and nutritious and reasonably priced. If you are vegan, as I am, you should go try this place out.
